Rihanna’s new song ‘Diamonds’ has premiered today (26th September)!
The first taster of Rihanna’s seventh studio album was played for the first time on-air at 1pm this afternoon and immediately received glowing praise from her millions of fans.
More down-tempo than her recent dance-flavoured hits, ‘Diamond’s is packed with positive lyrics and glorious melodic vocals from RiRi.
Lines include: “You’re a shooting star I see / A vision of ecstasy / When you hold me, I’m alive / We’re like diamonds in the sky.”
And: “So shine bright, tonight you and I / We’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky / Eye to eye, so alive / We’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky.”
‘Diamonds’ was produced by 24-year-old Benny Blanco who counts Ke$ha’s ‘Tik Tok’, Maroon 5’s ‘Move Like Jagger’ and Katy Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream’ amongst his songwriting and production credits, and written by Sia Furler who co-wrote and sang on David Guetta’s ‘Titanium’.
Rihanna’s untitled seventh album has been described as a “mash-up of genres” and features big name collaborators including Labrinth, Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta and Midas touched producer Sean Garrett.
