It's safe to say that 2023 has been a pretty successful year for Maisie Peters. She released her second studio album 'The Good Witch' in June, which reached Number 1 on the UK Chart. What's more, Maisie has finished a sold-out tour.

To get to know Maisie a little better, we've put together everything you need to know about her - from her biggest songs to her friendship with Ed Sheeran.

What are Maisie Peters' biggest songs?

'Lost The Breakup'

Released in March 2023, 'Lost The Breakup' features on Maisie's second album 'The Good Witch.' In the song, Maisie expresses the pain of going through a difficult breakup, but coming to the realisation that you have 'won' in the long run.

Speaking to us, Maisie explained that the song helped her to process a relationship ending. She explained: "I love that song because it comes from a place of sadness and heartbreak but it's also really joyous and really fun and now I love singing that song.

"It makes me smile every time because I'm like, 'I don't feel like that anymore.' So it was perfect for me back then, it's perfect for me now, if I get broken up with again it will be perfect for me then."

The song includes the lyrics: 'I'll smile and you'll have to face it / I'm the greatest love that you wasted / But, by then, I'll be far away / And, oh s---, you lost the breakup.'

'Body Better'

'Body Better' was released in January 2023 as the first single from 'The Good Witch', and Maisie has described the song as her most personal. The song is about processing a breakup whilst wondering if her ex-partner's new girlfriend has a better body, and the feelings of insecurity that comes with this.

In an essay she wrote for Glamour, Maisie revealed that she'd been inspired to write the song after comparing herself to her ex's new partner, having written her thoughts down on her phone. She said: "There’s nothing like heartbreak to make you magnify yourself with the most poisonous of lenses - insecurities you’ve always had swell up tenfold in the darkness, and you find yourself desperately unpicking every thread of your being. What your body looks like in the dark, in the light; how it underperforms in all the ways you're taught really matter."

This can be seen in lyrics such as the chorus, which goes: 'Then I, I can't help thinking that she's got a better body / Has she got a body better than mine? / And I, I can't help thinking when you touched it, were you sorry? / Were you sorry like you weren't at the time?'

'Blonde'

Maisie released the song 'Blonde' in August 2022. A break-up anthem, the track is about gaining self-confidence and reinventing yourself following the end of a relationship - including changing your hair colour.

This can be seen in lyrics such as: 'Baby if you thought that I was trouble / Then you're gonna hate what's coming next / Kinda like your worst nightmare but double / Is that an angel? No, it's your ex.'

'Cate's Brother'

'Cate's Brother' was released in May 2022 and reached Number 29 on the UK Singles Chart. Maisie initially shared clips of the track with fans on her TikTok page, before officially releasing it after getting such a good reaction from fans.

Maisie has explained that the song is about her friend Cate's brother, who she met at a party. However, she has since confirmed that the pair are not an item. Speaking to People, Maisie said: "Cate does have a brother, who is a sweet, sweet Canadian prince. No, we are not dating.

"The song was literally just a joke for me and my friendship group. I wrote it in Sweden and was like, 'Oh, this will be funny.' And then lo and behold, out it came."

The lyrics of the song detail the story of Maisie meeting Cate's brother and later dating him: 'Are you gonna work, you gonna hurt, you gonna last forever / Are we gonna make it, gonna break it, when it's now or never? / If it's gonna hurt, will it be worth it, and will I recover? / Are you gonna feel the way I feel? Are you for real, Cate's brother?'

'Psycho'

'Psycho' was released in July 2021 and was co-written by Ed Sheeran. The song is about Maisie reflecting on a former relationship and addressing an ex who is not over her. The track features on her debut album 'You Signed Up for This.'

The song includes the lyrics: 'You kept me as your favourite secret / And I thought we just took it slow / They say your girlfriend's from the beaches / It's funny how everybody but me knows.'
