Shawn Mendes confirms new single 'If I Can’t Have You' and you can hear it on Hits Radio

Shawn Mendes has just revealed details of his FIRST single for 2019, and we will be playing it here on Hits Radio tomorrow (3rd May)! Shawn's single, 'If I Can't Have You', follows his fantastic songs, 'In My Blood', and 'There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back' and we can't wait to hear it in full.

Shawn announced his new single to his fans on social media, with a number of short clips - WITHOUT sound! Despite the lack of audio, the clips which show a floral, warm-toned graphic with bursts of colour, have made his fans very excited.

In less than 24 hours, Shawn's tweet has had more than 126K likes, and received more than 60K comments, including one from Country music duo Dan + Shay who tweeted, 'SHAWN WE WERE NOT READY FOR THIS!' sic. Other fans have responded to the tease saying, 'what a visual!! so excited to hear this one', and 'I THOUGHT IT HAD SOUND 😭😭😭'. sic

In another tweet, the 'Stitches' singer told his fans they could also buy his new single on 'Limited edition #IfICantHaveYou cassettes, vinyls, and CDs'! Could this mean that his new music has a retro feel about it?

Shawn Mendes released his popular self-titled album 'Shawn Mendes' last year, which included his hit 'In My Blood', however, this latest release was not included on last year's album.

The singer, who has just finished the UK leg of his tour, is believed to be working on new music. Back in January this year, Shawn confirmed he would be working with One Direction's Niall Horan.

Shawn took to Twitter, retweeting a tweet by Niall. The initial tweet was responding to a fan who had asked, 'niall will you ever give us a song with shawn?' sic, Niall then tweeted, 'We're going to try', but Shawn took it one step further saying, 'We ARE going to!'
