Unconfirmed reports in the Daily Star suggest that One Direction could be set to do one last massive gig before their hiatus next year.

According to the newspaper their last gig could be at one of the biggest sports events in America, the Superbowl, which takes place in February.

Last month One Direction announced they would have a hiatus after their current tour which ends on 31st October in Sheffield.

The Daily Star's source said, “NFL bosses want a superstar line-up and 1D are very much in the mix."

“They want a pop and rock mash-up and it is thought that Coldplay and Bruno Mars are in talks too."

The Superbowl is an annual event in America and the halftime show is legendary with the likes of Katy Perry, Beyoncé and Madonna performing in front of millions around the world.

Perhaps the most famous halftime show is when Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake were performing and she flashed a nipple, during a 'wardrobe malfunction'.
