Former Coronation Street star Faye Brookes has announced that she's the next celebrity to star on Dancing On Ice 2021! After Myleene Klass, Joe-Warren Plant and Denise Van Outen have been confirmed earlier this week, Faye appeared on Lorraine this morning to reveal the news.

She gushed, "This is the first time I think people are just going to see me, not being a character… Just being me – Faye!"

Of course, there's a representative from Coronation Street each year, so Faye isn't the first star of the cobbles to be taking to the ice. She told Lorraine about following in her co-stars' footsteps.

"As soon as this interview is over I can contact them," she admitted. "But I’ve obviously had to keep this to myself. It’s the biggest secret I’ve kept in my life! I saw Brooke yesterday and I was desperate to tell her but I thought one more day and I’ll be able to. She’ll be my first text message after I’ve finished this interview."

Although Faye has yet to comment on the news on her Instagram pages, she did share the official Dancing On Ice post to her Instagram Story. Faye left Coronation Street in 2019 after playing Kate Connor for four years, winning Best Newcomer at the National Television Awards in 2017.

None of the confirmed celebrities know who their professional dance partner will be yet, but as the show normally begins airing on ITV in January, it won't be too far off before they're introduced and can begin training.

This comes after Denise Van Outen was confirmed for Dancing On Ice on Loose Women yesterday, admitting that she hadn't even been able to tell her daughter Betsy, and was looking forward to sharing the news when picking her up from school.

Scroll through to see which other celebrities are rumoured to be taking part in Dancing On Ice 2021:

Luke Trotman

Rumours about Luke's participation are widespread, and he was one of the clan of celebs arriving for auditions for the show last month.

Billie Faiers

This TOWIE star was also spotted heading to auditions in July, and having also survived the Big Brother house we're sure she'd get off to a flying start on the ice.

Baga Chipz

From watching Drag Race, we can safely assume that drag queen Baga Chipz would be more than comfortable with the glittering wardrobe department and dance moves on the show. Baga was also among the select group of celebs turning up to audition nearly a month ago.

Samantha Giles

The Emmerdale actress is another celeb rumoured to be launching on the ice this year, although she wasn't spotted at auditions.

Carly Stenson

Carly Stenson is another soapland celeb rumoured to be taking part this year. She too wasn't spotted turning up to the rink to audition along with other celebs like Luke Trotman and Denise van Outen.

Denise van Outen

Denise was spotted heading to auditions last month, and we think she has a fair shot at the trophy this year, after taking part in Strictly Come Dancing back in 2012.

Mark "Bez" Berry

Bez is best known for being part of the band, Happy Mondays, but he most recently appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox. His addition to the show would certainly be, urm, interesting.

Denise Lewis

Olympian Denise also turned up at Slough Ice Arena, Berks with a whole host of other celebs to audition for the show. We have no doubt she'd skate circle around the rest of the rumoured contestants.

Wayne Bridge

Footballer and other half of Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge, Wayne Bridge, is rumoured to be one of the sports stars taking part in this year's Dancing on Ice. Frankie has previously taken part in Strictly, so maybe she can give him some dancing tips.

Antony Costa

Blue singer Antony Costa was also spotted auditioning for the ice skating show, cig in hand.

Fallon Sherrock

Darts extraordinaire Fallon Sherrock could be taking to the ice this year, as she was spotted heading to auditions last month.

Vicki Michelle, from 90s sitcom 'Allo 'Allo! is the oldest rumoured contestant at 69 , quite the achievement, we salute you Vicki.

Dr Alex George

Celeb-land's favourite reality TV doctor could be tying up his skates this year too.

Olivia Bentley

Olivia's been all over our screens this year, from Made In Chelsea to Celebs Go Dating, and she could well be hopping on over to ITV to take part in the skating extravaganza.

Lisa Maxwell

This Morning's Lisa Maxwell was also spotted at auditions for the show in July.

Toyah Willcox

Singer Toyah Willcox is heading up the more mature section of the rumoured lineup this year.

Rufus Hound

Comic Rufus Hound would certainly entertain us on the ice, and it's looking pretty likely he's taking part as he was seen heading into the ice rink last month.

Stephen "Sketch" Porter

Sketch from tattoo fixers might well have a hidden ice skating talent we don't know about... he was spotted auditioning so we'll find out in due course.

Mark Foster

Mark's another Strictly alumni heading up the mature entries for Dancing on Ice this year, and he's the second olympian rumoured to take part too.

Jodie Prenger

West end star Jodie would certainly bring some theatrics to the rink this year, although she wasn't part of the group of celebs auditioning at the rink last month.

Jason Donovan

In September 2020, it was reported that Neighbours legend Jason Donovan was the first celeb to be 'confirmed' for the cool reality show.
Jason took part in Strictly Come Dancing series nine in 2011, coming a very impressive third.
