The popular pair, who also present shows such as Britain's Got Talent, Saturday Night Takeaway and Limitless Win, have hosted every series of I'm A Celeb together, except the 2018 series when Holly Willoughby stepped in for Ant as he took some time out of the spotlight.

Where did I'm A Celeb 2022 take place?

After a two-year break from filming in Australia, ITV bosses confirmed the 2022 series would return to the famous jungle, instead of Gwrych Castle in North Wales.

ITV bosses confirmed the news in August 2022, saying: 'Returning to its home in Australia after a two-year break, our celebrities will leave their plush pads and luxuries far behind as they spend up to three weeks taking on the Australian jungle with a whole host of surprises created just for them.

'Whoever does end up in the legendary jungle camp will find themselves cut off from the outside world and their fate will be in the hands of viewers who could decide to send them into a dreaded Bushtucker Trial.

'Our BAFTA award-winning hosts Ant & Dec are back to present all the big stories live every night. Who will be crowned this year’s King or Queen of the Jungle? Find out this Autumn on ITV.'

Has I'm A Celebrity: Extra Camp been axed?

After nearly two decades on our TV screens, I'm A Celebrity: Extra Camp was axed in 2020 due to 'high production costs'.

Presenter Joel Dommett confirmed the sad news in January 2020, writing: 'Sad news - The time has unfortunately come to put Extra Camp to bed in its uncomfortable hammock. The show will no longer continue. It’s been a huge privilege to be a part a show with such a rich history filled with amazing hosts.'

He added: 'The producers have assured me that @emilyatackofficial @adamthomas21 and myself are not to blame - they said the show was better than ever and also that Joel is the sexiest presenter we have ever had (I wasn’t listening but it was something like that) - it is simply because it’s expensive given how late it’s on and the funds will be used in more prime time slots. I’ve told them that Adam will do it for free but the decision is made.'

Joel then thanked bosses for his time on the show, adding: 'Thank you to all the crew who have made this the most wonderful 3 years, you have shaped me as a person and presenter. I’ve learnt so much. Thank you to everyone for watching #extracamp' (sic)

Who presented I'm A Celebrity: Extra Camp?

Scarlett Moffatt, Joel Dommett and Joe Swash presented I'm A Celebrity: Extra Camp for the last few years, but in 2019, the show changed things up.

After both Scarlett and Joe decided to step down from the show, ITV confirmed that former contestants Emily Atack and Adam Thomas would be presenting the show alongside Joel Dommett in 2019.

Over the years a number of famous faces have presenter Extra Camp, including Caroline Flack, Russell Kane, Laura Whitmore, Scarlett Moffatt and Joe Swash.

Is there a new I'm A Celebrity spin-off show?

Despite I'm A Celebrity: Extra Camp being cancelled, there was a special spin-off show for the 2020 series, called I'm A Celebrity... The Daily Drop.

The show exclusively aired on the ITV Hub, with a brand new episode dropping every morning at 7am.

However, it was announced in October 2021 that the show would not be returning, meaning the main show won't have a spin-off for the first time in history.

I'm A Celebrity: Bushtucker trials:

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) launched a petition to end animal trials on I'm A Celebrity, and in November 2019 it had reached 13K signatures. Following some backlash from viewers, the 2019 series of I'm A Celeb already saw the trials stop eating live animals, but animal rights organisation PETA are hoping to put an end to animal-related trials altogether.

It had also been rumoured that eating trials on the 2020 series of the show may have been axed during filming in the UK.

A spokesperson for RSPCA, the largest animal welfare charity in the UK told Metro: “The RSPCA does not endorse the use of animals in any form of entertainment and in particular where this is likely to cause distress or suffering.

“However, we do feel it’s important to offer advice to those who decide to use animals in entertainment and will always offer further guidance including ways to seek alternatives to animal use.

“More generally, we don’t endorse the use of animals in any form of entertainment, but if approached we will offer advice that promotes good welfare practice and can help avoid unnecessary distress and suffering. Our advice will always include seeking alternative methods to animal use.”

However, eating trials took place in both the 2021 and 2022 series.

I'm A Celebrity: Secrets of the show:

Ant and Dec were asked why they always have their watches covered when they come into contact with the campmates. Back in 2017, I'm A Celebrity: Extra Camp hosts Joel Dommett and Scarlett Moffatt told a viewer: "It's so the campmates don't know the time, so all the watches are covered for the people that see the campmates all the time, like Ant, Dec and Medic Bob."

Alison Hammond also revealed that a deadly animal had made its way into the camp during one of the earlier episodes. The This Morning presenter, who had a stint in the jungle in 2010, confirmed that a Goanna had been roaming about the camp, saying: "If you get bit by one of them it's potentially fatal. Their tails are like razors. They can take your skin off."

Fans were also left baffled after Cliff Parisi was spotted smoking a nicotine inhalator in the camp. Viewers were convinced that campmates weren't allowed to smoke, but ITV confirmed that they're allowed to smoke if they want, so long as they put it out on the camp fire.
