Clearly as excited as us about the new series, host Laura Whitmore also shared a brand new photo of herself, mentioning the late Caroline Flack in her post.

She wrote: 'I think we’re all ready for some love! Ahhhhhh! So excited to watch the new islanders. Hope you enjoy talking about them and following their journey and just a reminder to treat them with love, compassion and respect when they leave the show and go back to real life. Caroline I hope we do you proud. One week to go ❤️'. (sic)

The news comes after it was confirmed in March that series 7 would definitely be going ahead, despite the UK still being in lockdown at the time.

ITV confirmed the good news by releasing their bumper Spring schedule, with ITV’s Managing Director of Media and Entertainment, Kevin Lygo, saying, “There’s so much to look forward to on ITV this spring and into summer, with the Euros and the return of Love Island, but much more besides."

The show, which hit our TV screens back in 2015, has so far had viewers hooked with five Summer series and one Winter series, which was won by Paige Turley and Finn Tapp at the start of 2020.

Although the vast majority of couples have since split since leaving the luxury villa, there has been a number of success stories, including the likes of Olivia and Alex Bowen, Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, and Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt.

Whilst we count down the days until Love Island 2021, you can binge watch series 1-6 on the ITV Hub now.

Love Island hits our TV screens on Monday 28th June.
