Love Island's Brad admits he wish Lucinda left the villa with him

There's been a lot of grumblings by fans during the current series of Love Island, with many complaining the 2021 series just doesn't have the drama that has featured in past years, but that all changed over the last two nights!

After Tuesday night's cliffhanger ending, Love Island viewers were hyped to tune into last night's (Wednesday 14th July) show to discover the decision made by Brad McClelland and Lucinda Strafford.

Bosses threw in an almighty curveball earlier this week by making new couple Brad and Lucinda chose between themselves who would be dumped after being voted the least compatible by the public.

Despite many thinking it would be a difficult and awkward decision, Geordie lad Brad was quick to volunteer to leave, telling Lucinda to stay and take her opportunities, much to the anger of their fellow Islander Faye Winter.

HOWEVER, despite urging Lucinda to stay, it sounds like 26-year-old Brad had a change of heart when he got back into the real world.

Speaking to Love Island bosses following his departure, he said: "On the night, it was one of them situations where, I didn’t want her to leave with me. The way we had a connection, it would be really nice to take what we had and continue it on the outside. I woke up this morning and I wish we had left together. I want to see where that could have went. Not being able to speak to Cind, or ask her where she’s at, I want to know how she’s woke up this morning."

It sounds like Brad is up for seeing Lucinda when she leaves the villa, going on to say: "I’d love to go to Brighton and meet these people we’ve spoken about, put the faces to names. Vice versa, bring her to Amble. Just see how we are on the outside."

But when asked if he's going to wait for Lucinda, the laborour confessed: "Do you wait for like six weeks, hoping that she isn’t with someone and then missing opportunities? Or do you rush in and forget about Cind and move on… I’m in no rush.

"I didn’t expect to find anyone like her in there. To answer that question, I really don’t know. My gut instinct would be to wait it out, see where it’s at and continue on, just to see if it was a good thing. It started off more than well. It was unreal. It would be sad not to see how it would go on the outside."
