Laura Anderson became the nation's sweetheart after she entered the Love Island villa on Day One. After coupling up with Wes Nelson, she was left heartbroken after he dumped her and went after Megan Barton-Hanson instead.

We were all rooting for her when she then coupled up with Jack Fowler - but when he dumped her for Laura Crane, hearts broke all across the country. So when she eventually seemed to click with Paul Knops, we were OVERJOYED.

Unfortunately, despite being runners-up in the competition and losing to fan-favourites Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer, the couple went their separate ways last week amid rumours they'd been having explosive rows.

However, 29-year-old Laura has set the record straight in an interview with OK! magazine, saying, "When we came out of the villa there was a lot of work-related things we did together and then Paul went away for three weeks.

"He went to the Burning Man festival in America and he couldn’t get phone signal for a week. I was absolutely fine with that. I trusted him not to do things with other girls, which he didn’t."

Unfortunately, Laura was left disappointed when they couldn't rebuild their relationship, "I was hoping that when he came back we’d spend more time together and build a proper relationship out of the villa. It didn’t happen."

She also opened up about unfollowing him on Instagram, "I don’t really want to see what he’s up to now because I’m not involved in that. If he needs me he’d call me but I don’t want to watch his stories. You have a little look now and again and it torments you!"

It makes sense!
