Back in July, as reported by Vanity Fair, Netflix Vice President of Original Content, Cindy Holland, confirmed that Stranger Things would be looking at a Summer 2019 release date. She explained the reasons behind the long wait for Stranger Things season 3 during the press tour.

Filming for the new season started back in April, with Millie Bobby Brown, who stars as Eleven in the hit TV show, posting a photo to Instagram, showing herself with the show's director Shawn Levy, captioned 'and so it begins #strangerthingsseason3'.

Not a huge amount is known about the plot for the upcoming series, however the Duffer Brothers confirmed it would be set in now 1985, now reconfirmed in the teaser trailer.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter Matt Duffer said, "Even if we wanted to hop into the action faster, we couldn't. Our kids are aging.

"We can only write and produce the show so fast. They're going to be almost a year older by the time we start shooting season three. It provides certain challenges. You can't start right after season two ended.

"It forces you to do a time jump. But what I like is that it makes you evolve the show."

Stranger Things Season 3 returns to Netflix in the summer 2019, in the meantime you can watch Seasons 1 and 2 of the hit show on Netflix.
