When rumours began swirling that The X Factor would be undergoing a huge change for 2019, no-one could have predicted just quite how huge that change would be. Not only are they scrapping the 'normal' series for this year, but there are two brand new X Factor formats on the way - and we could not be more excited!

It's been a long time coming, but Simon Cowell is finally rounding up all the most successful past winners of The X Factor for an All Stars version of the show to battle it out - coming not long after the The X Factor: Celebrity airs in October.

Although nothing official has come from Simon himself, X Factor veteran Louis Walsh has been revealing all about what's to come later in the year - and confirmed that the first three contestants for the All Stars version have signed up.

Of course, with it being All Stars, you could assume that it's only going to be past contestants who have actually won the show - but there's nothing stopping producers from bringing back successful runners-up! Here's who is confirmed for the show so far.

The X Factor: All Stars - which singers are confirmed for the show so far?

Alexandra Burke

Alexandra Burke first came onto the nation's screens when she auditioned for the fifth series of The X Factor. Mentored by Cheryl, she smashed her way through the competition, before eventually singing a duet with Beyoncé in the show's final then being crowned the 2008 winner!

She has since released Number 1 singles, including 'Hallelujah' and 'Bad Boys', with her first album smashing record sales, hitting the top spot in the charts. In 2017, the singer competed in Strictly Come Dancing and she has also had various West End roles, including the lead in 'Bodyguard' and 'Sister Act'.

Shayne Ward

Since winning the show in 2005, Shayne Ward has released music as well as starring on stage and screen. After his stint on the singing show, he released three albums, with his first album going 4x Platinum and his second 5x Platinum. He then moved into performing in the West End, featuring in 'Rock of Ages'.

More recently, he played Aidan Connor in Coronation Street, joining in 2015 and winning awards for his performance in the soap, including Best Newcomer in 2016 at the National Television Awards. He left the soap in 2018, after his character tragically died in a storyline raising awareness for male suicide.

Leona Lewis

Leona Lewis stole the nation's heart when she became the first ever female winner of the hit ITV show. Winning the third series back in 2006, her career sky-rocketed after her winners' single 'A Moment Like This' broke a world record for reaching 50,000 digital downloads within 30 minutes.

Her debut album 'Spirit' is the fourth best-selling album of the 2000s and is one of the best-selling albums in UK chart history! This album featured the single 'Bleeding Love', which spent seven weeks at Number 1 in the UK, becoming the best-selling single of 2007. Leona has since released two further albums and has appeared on Broadway in Cats as well as US TV shows, including 'The Oath' and 'Songland'.

Who is on the judging panel for The X Factor: All Stars?

There has been no official confirmation of the judging panel from ITV for this version of the show. Whilst it has been confirmed that Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger will be returning for Celebrity X Factor, it has been reported Simon still wants to shake things up by having two DIFFERENT panels for each show. That means it's going to be an expensive pay out for all these judges! Well, we mean for Simon.

Sharon Osbourne was linked to the show, however after appearing on ITV's Loose Women, she ruled herself out, saying that her time on the show is in the past.

We will keep you posted when the judges get confirmed!

Which channel will The X Factor: All Stars be on?

The X Factor will air on ITV, its home since the show began in 2004. ITV have never doubted the show, constantly resigning the show's contract year on year, despite the plunging ratings. Hopefully this version of the show can gain back some lost viewers and give us back some of that nostalgic X Factor spirit that we miss.

Who is presenting The X Factor: All Stars?

Dermot O'Leary has confirmed he is set to host both the All Stars and Celebrity version of the show. Speaking to The Metro, the presenter said, he was "back this year, yes. That's as much as I know.

"Nothing surprises me particularly because the show never rests on its laurels. There's always an evolution every year".

He added, "As someone that's been there a very long time, it takes up a great part of my year, and I have a great fondness for it. I love it. You see so many changes down the years, you're never really surprised. Everyone's pretty excited about it".

He's 100% the man for the job isn't he?!

When does The X Factor: All Stars start?

There is no official confirmation date for the show's return, but it is expected to be later this summer with the celebrity version airing first. It normally runs from late August to early December so it should be returning very soon!
