Blackburn Rovers owners insist court case won't affect the club

Blackburn's owners insist their ongoing court case in India should have no bearing on their ability to fund the club in the future.
Venky's, which has owned Rovers since 2010, has recently been involved in a tax dispute with the Indian government, leading to restrictions being placed on its parent group Venkateshwara Hatcheries Private Limited.
However, the club have said the litigation "is now related only to technical and procedural issues involving Venkateshwara Hatcheries Pvt Ltd and should have no future impact on the owners being able to continue to fund the club".
They added in a statement on the club website: "The owners would like to assure all Blackburn Rovers supporters and partners that the club will continue to have their full support in the short, medium and long term.
"Even through the extremely challenging times of the Covid pandemic and during difficulties encountered last year, the owners have always supported the club, which will continue as and when they are required to do so.
"Finally, the owners would like to take this opportunity to thank all associated with the club for their support and have full belief that under our new head coach John Eustace we can have a strong end to the current season."
Blackburn, who appointed Eustace last month on a two-and-a-half-year deal, sit 17th in the Sky Bet Championship, three points above the drop zone, and have won just once in their last 17 league matches.
