East Lancs Road closed after crash

Part of the East Lancashire Road has been closed this morning, as Merseyside Police respond to a crash.

The force says it was were contacted at 6.35am today (Thursday 9 May), to reports a motorbike had been in a collision with a lorry on the eastbound carriageway between Moorgate Road and the slip road for the M57.

Emergency services are currently at the scene and both the east and westbound carriageway of the East Lancashire Road are closed while the incident is being dealt with.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
