An investigation's underway after reports of a man falling from a building in Liverpool city centre on Friday night (26 April, 2024).

Emergency services were called to an apartment building on Hurst Street just after 9 o'clock.

Merseyside Police say inquiries are ongoing.

In a statement, Merseyside Police said:

'We can confirm that emergency services are currently in Liverpool city centre this evening (Friday 26 April) following reports that a man fell from a building.

'Emergency services, including Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service, were called to the incident at an apartment building on Hurst Street at around 9.20pm.

'Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and officers remain in the area to establish the full circumstances.​

'A road closure is currently in place and motorists are advised to avoid the street. Thank you for your patience as we deal with this incident.'
