To celebrate the National Pet Month, Hits Radio Breakfast presenter and dog lover Gemma Atkinson hosted a dog walk and raise money for Cash for Kids.

Gemma invited Hits Radio listeners to join her in Heaton Park on Thursday 11th April for a wonder around the beautiful park setting.

National Pet Month is all about celebrating life with pets. Owning a dog is a perfect way to build more exercise into your daily routine and walking around parks and woodlands can help to feel more relaxed and refreshed.

Lots of Hits Radio listeners joined Gemma on what was a very sunny lunch time, the group headed off a leisurely walk sticking to the path around the beautiful park.

Everyone was welcome at the dog walk, all we asked is that people made a donation to Cash for Kids. Everyone dug deep and helped to raise £225 to give a helping hand to disabled and disadvantaged children living in Greater Manchester.

Regatta supported the event and kindly donated water bottles to everyone who took part as a little thank you for their generous donation.
