The countdown to the Great Manchester Run is on. The UK’s biggest and best 10k returns to the city on Sunday 26th September, and this year it’s all about the comeback!

It’s shaping up to be an action-packed celebration of running, with the 10k and Half Marathon events taking place on the same day, whilst the Junior and Mini events will ensure budding running stars of the future get their shot at glory.

The event is famous for its city centre route, buzzing atmosphere from start to finish, iconic music, and of course Mancunian spirit in abundance!

With entertainment zones that celebrate local character and culture at every kilometre, some of the best (and loudest!) crowd support anywhere in the world, and all the action televised live on the BBC, this is an event day experience like no other.

Renowned for being fast and flat, Manchester’s original running event boasts a city centre start and finish, with Half Marathon and 10k routes showcasing some of Manchester’s most famous landmarks, including the iconic football stadiums.

This year, to keep runners safe, there will be covid secure measures in place, but the thrill of running through Manchester’s streets and the unbeatable feeling of crossing the finish on Deansgate, will be even more special this year.

The greatest reward in taking part is the sense of achievement as you cross the finish line, but a shiny new medal, a snazzy finishers t-shirt and a finisher’s bag filled with goodies will await you at the end of the run.

Great Run events are renowned for being well-organised, safe, and inclusive and the atmosphere and support is always unbelievable. Whether you do it for the challenge, to fundraise for charity, or simply for fun, take your place on the start line and be part of something really special.

Junior and Mini Great Manchester Run

It’s not just about the grown-ups, the Junior and Mini event gives runners aged 3+ the opportunity to enjoy the big event experience. A buzzing atmosphere, music and plenty of encouragement will help your little one the whole way round the course, and a very special medal awaits at the finish. Entries to the Junior (2.5k) and Mini (1.5k) Great Manchester Run on Sunday 26th September are now open.

On The Course

Soak up the atmosphere from start to finish with the infamous on-course music and entertainment zones. High tempo music stations and charity cheering points line the course, reenergising runners every kilometre of the course. Back by popular demand for 2021 is the Hacienda zone, featuring a massive sound system, disco lights and bubble machine – it’s guaranteed to give runners a final boost to the finish line.

Business Challenge

The Business Challenge encourages local businesses to compete against each other on to be crowned champions. If you and a group of colleagues want to take on a running event together, for charity, a fitness goal or perhaps just have fun as a team, why not enter a team into the ENGIE Business Challenge at the next Great Manchester Run.

We can't wait for this year's Greater Manchester Run!
