Apple have just launched a music product. It’s called Apple Music and it is officially a big deal.

Described by all the commentators as the company's answer to Spotify, Apple Music is coming to iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and PC on June 30th across 100 countries, before hitting Apple TV and Android phones this autumn.

Here’s 5 things you need to know about Apple Music:

2. Apple are launching a brand new 24hr radio station Yes, in addition to millions of tracks and curated playlists from the iTunes Library, they’ll be launching a new radio stations called ‘Beats1’. Broadcast 24 hours a day globally from three different cities – London, LA and New York – DJs such as Zane Lowe will be on hand to play you the very best in new music!

3. You’ll be closer to your favourite artists Good news for the One Directioners…Apple Music allows artists to get closer to their fans by offering exclusive content to them through their service ‘Connect’. Pharell and Drake are amongst the names already on board and Drake is planning to release his next album through Connect!

4. Siri will be your own personal DJ – sort of Be prepared to hear “Play Rihanna!” and “Play Rihanna AGAIN!” coming from every gym, bus and playground from June 30th. Each Apple Music user can command Siri to play whatever they like as well as asking it to play tracks such as the most played track from a certain year…quite cool, right?

5. The finances Boring but important. Apple Music will be free to sample for three months, after which it will cost $9.99 a month for an individual membership or $14.99 a month for a family plan of up to six people.
