Britain’s Got Talent 2015: The Best Bits

Highlights from one of Britain's favourite TV shows

Published 5th Jun 2015

This series of Britain’s Got Talent has potentially been the most scandalous ever - from controversial outfits to the now infamous dog-gate. One week on from the finale, we take a look at some of the highlights from this year’s show.

Dancing Dads

We’ve all experienced that embarrassing moment when your Dad decides to bust a move and flaunt his non-existent dancing skills. This year five men called ‘Old Men Grooving’ brought that experience to national television. Enjoy.

Outfits

There is always an array of weird and wonderful outfits on show at Britain’s Got Talent – usually worn by performers. However this year two items of clothing worn by presenters resulted in over 90 complaints being sent to Ofcom. Amanda Holden’s Frozen-inspired dress and Alesha Dixon’s ball gown were big topics of discussion.

Golden Buzzer Acts

There were a number of entertaining Golden Buzzer acts during this year’s show, but were there any stranger than Lorraine Bowen? – a woman who played ‘The Crumble Song’ using a Casio organ rested on top of an ironing board… Only on Britain’s Got Talent, right?

Do you believe in magic?

Jamie Raven stole the hearts of the British public this year with his array of magic tricks. However it didn’t stop eagle-eyed viewers from attempting to foil his acts by rewinding and pausing his moves on live TV. Although some of his magic was “revealed” we still love the hard work and dedication he put into them.

Karate Kid

Britain’s Got Talent is famed for its surprising and inspiring acts. This year we loved 9-year-old Jesse ‘The Karate Kid’ who stunned the audience and judges alike with her intense display of swordsmanship.

The Choir

One of our standout moments was Côr Glanaethwy who brought down the house with this incredible rendition of ‘Hallelujah’. Although this performance by the 160-plus piece Welsh choir received a standing ovation, sadly it wasn’t enough to bring home a win to the valleys.

The Neales

There were many acts who pulled at our heart-strings during this year’s series but none other than The Neales, a family four piece from Birmingham who reduced the judges to tears with this emotional performance of ‘I Won’t Give Up’ by Jason Mraz. Grab your hankies folks!

The Dogs

Possibly the biggest talking point of this series was dog-gate, which saw winner Jules O’Dywer introduce a second dog, Chase, for a tightrope trick during her performance with Matisse. Many viewers believed the swap wasn’t made clear – and definitely made their feelings clear by sending over 1000 complaints to Ofcom.
