Motorbike rider left with life threatening injuries after Ashton-under-Lyne crash.

The 24 year old remains in hospital with serious head injuries.

A 24-year-old man is fighting for his life after a motorbike crash in Ashton-under-Lyne.

He was riding along Kings Road at the junction with Weymouth Road at around 1.40pm yesterday (17th April) when his motorbike hit the kerb. Both he and the bike were thrown against a wall on impact - leaving the rider with serious head injuries.

The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Police Constable Paul Shore, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are in the early stages of our investigation and we still need to establish exactly what has happened here.

“I urge anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or perhaps saw the motorcycle travelling in the build-up to the collision, to get in touch with us as soon as possible. You could hold vital information.”
