The founder of a mental health support group in Scarborough has been telling us how the latest plan B restrictions will have a massive impact on people’s mental health.

Helen Speak has been running online and in person support group meetings for anyone suffering with their mental health and needs support.

She said:

"It's gunna have a massive impact. They're going to start worrying, having anxiety and despair, the natural things that you would think about when looking at pandemic restrictions may be being tightened.

"There needs to be more support online, over the phone and the Government really, really needs to be able to still let groups like ourselves have our meetings because it's during times like this that people need that support more than ever.

"Especially over this Christmas period when support's going to be less anyway because there's not going to be staff about, services aren't in use or closed for the holidays. It's just going to have a negative impact."
