Man in hospital after stabbing on West Street in Sheffield

Two people have been arrested

Police are investigating a stabbing on West Street in Sheffield during the early hours of Saturday morning (9th March).

Officers were called at 3.22am and found a 26-year-old man with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries, and remains there in a stable condition.

A 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon in public place.

Two scenes were also in place yesterday in West Street, between Rockingham Street and Carver Street, and in Pounds Park. They have been lifted and the roads are now open.
