A huge lorry fire caused commuter chaos on the M60 this morning - closing all but one lane near Prestwich at the peak of the morning rush hour.

The vehicle burst into flames on the anti-clockwise carriageway between J17 and J16 at around 7am and caused delays back to J21 of M62.

Highways England tell us all lanes re-opened at midday after a painstaking operation to remove the wreckage from the carriageway.

Officials were forced to wait hours for the vehicle to cool down before they were able to move it.

Luckily, the road hasn't been impacted by the heat and won't require resurfacing work. It has now been swept and cleared of the debris.
