Madonna’s spectacular fall was the biggest talking point of last night’s BRIT Awards, despite Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith walking away with two gongs each.
During a performance of her latest single ‘Living For Love’, the pop icon appeared to be dragged off stage by her Armani cape – landing with a thud.
The 56-year-old was clearly stunned by the incident but used all of her experience to carry on the performance with ultimate professionalism.
After the fall she quickly reassured worried fans via Twitter, posting “Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight. But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I'm fine! #livingforlove'
Stars took to social media to show support for Queen of Pop, praising the singer for her perseverance.
Presenter and former Saved By The Bell star Mario Lopez tweeted: “Tell you what though not many artists would continue after that fall. Way to go Madonna for being a trooper & carrying on! #Legend'
