Kylie Minogue is one of our very favourite people in the world here at Magic Radio, so we were totally over the moon when she spoke to Magic Breakfast with Ronan and Harriet this morning!

Despite getting off to a rocky start - you know how it is with video calls - Ronan and Harriet had a brilliant chat with Kylie, who spoke about her brand new album 'Disco', life in lockdown... And a lost collaboration with Prince!

Of her new album, Kylie said, "Whenever I hear that - 15th album - that's kind of crazy. But you know what, in the same breath, I think, hmm, 15? Okay. Well, what am I going to do next? Even though it's only just come out!

"It's always exciting and a bit kind of nerve-wracking having new music out. But I think under these circumstances, in this particular year, I feel even more humbled and grateful to be able to make music and share it with people."

But the biggest revelation of the interview was the fact that Kylie actually owns a tape with a demo by none other than Prince... Yes, really!

It turns out that Kylie and Prince worked together on a song - but before you get your hopes up and your headphones out, the tape has unfortunately been lost in time, "It was just a demo that he recorded. I met him after his show at Earls Court, and it was the one and only time I'd seen him perform.

"As a lifelong Prince maniac, firstly to see him perform was just totally mind-blowing. I got to say hello to him afterwards, and somehow I had the gumption to say, 'Oh, if you want to do something together, that'd be great'."

Kylie explained that she and Prince had hung out together for a couple of days before he asked where her lyrics were, "I didn't have any! I wrote some down that night, but I can't remember... This is the trouble, I didn't keep a diary. It was way before phones recorded our lives and we could access memories a lot easier.

"But the next thing I know, his driver hand-delivered a cassette with Prince singing a song he'd written with the lyrics that I'd given to him called 'Baby Doll'. It's just him in demo form. But let's hope I can find it - I'm sure his estate has it, he must have a billion songs. He was prolific! Watch this space."

Kylie also revealed she's gearing up for Christmas, admitting that she's getting ready to stay in the UK instead of going back home to Australia, "I'm mentally preparing to snuggle down and go wild with the decorations. But I obviously I can't wait to get home and see my family."

Adding that 'Aussie Christmas' is very different, Kylie explained, "I always say it's boardshorts. bikinis and barbecues for Christmas! But we would still have Christmas cards with traditional Christmas things like snow."
