Volunteers are accepting clothing, power banks, heaters, blankets, hygiene equipment, diapers, sanitary pads and a range of other items in good condition.

They have been started by the Association of Turkish Alumni and Students in Scotland.

Rania Mohiuddin from group said: As we fight against time to save as many lives as possible, the smallest amount of help can go a very long way.

"With your help in publicising these collection points and donation channels, we hope to help those in dire need of warm clothes and shelter."
