Ozzy Osbourne plans 'one more album' and live return in 2024

Ozzy Osbourne says he wants to record “one more album” in 2024 and then “hit the road” again.
The 74-year-old metal legend underwent his fourth and final surgical procedure on his spine on Monday 18th September and said he was “done” with surgery.
Ozzy suffered a serious fall in his bedroom in 2019, which aggravated injuries suffered in his quadbike crash in 2003.
The Prince of Darkness later revealed that the initial surgery he received following his fall was ‘all wrong’ and left him unable to walk. He then underwent ‘life-determining’ surgery in June to realign pins in his neck and back.
Due to his ongoing health woes, Ozzy cancelled his long-delayed UK & Ireland tour with Judas Priest earlier this year, and over the summer he axed his planned one-off live comeback at Power Trip festival in California.
In a new interview with Metal Hammer following his surgery, Ozzy expressed renewed optimism about touring and confirmed plans are already underfoot for a new studio album.
“I’ve had all the surgery now, thank god," he said. "I’m feeling okay – it was just dragging on. I thought I’d be back on my feet months ago, I just couldn’t get used to this mode of living, constantly having something wrong. I can’t walk properly yet, but I’m not in any pain any more and the surgery on my spine went great.”
“I’m getting myself fit," Ozzy continued. "I’ve done two albums fairly recently (2020's ‘Ordinary Man’ and 2022's ‘Patient Number 9’) but I want to do one more album and then go back on the road.”
Asked for more details about the album, Ozzy replied: “I’m just starting to work on it now, and we’ll be recording in the early part of next year. I want to take my time with this one!”
Alongside the fall, 74-year-old Ozzy has suffered a series of health setbacks in recent years including his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis, a staph infection in his hand and emphysema.
On Saturday, Ozzy's wife Sharon Osbourne and former band mates Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler attended the premiere of Black Sabbath: The Ballet at Birmingham Hippodrome.
Tony Iommi also joined the ballet dancers on stage to tear through Black Sabbath's seminal anthem 'Paranoid.'
