Zombies Writing New Album

Argent & Blunstone will hit the studio later this year

The Zombies have revealed that they will be heading into the studio later this year to work on a brand new studio album.

Classic Rock Magazine reports that Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent will hit the studio soon to start working on material that has already been written.

"Rod and I are going to record at his studio, which has just been refurbished, starting in the next few months,” said Blunstone. "Two or three tunes have already been demoed and they sound great, but we’ve got about two-thirds of the material required for an album."

And following the hugely successful Odessey & Oracle 40th anniversary tour, the band will probably be out on the road in support of the new material.

"There’s talk of The Zombies playing a major tour of UK in the Autumn and also doing America and Canada in the summer. These tours won’t be themed upon a particular album, but I would hope we will be previewing a few songs intended for the album – maybe as many as four or five of them,” revealed Blunstone.

In the meantime, Colin Blunstone has an extensive UK tour to complete in February, while Rod Argent will be reforming the original line-up of Argent for the High Voltage Festival in July.
