Dolly Parton's new musical Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol will get its European premiere this festive season with a run at the Southbank Centre's Queen Elizabeth Hall in London.

Produced by Fiery Angel Entertainment and Red Tail Entertainment, the production will run from 8th December 2022 to 9th January 2023.

Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol will take the classic Charles Dickens tale to the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee in the 1930s with Ebenezer Scrooge the greedy owner of a mining company town. On Christmas eve he'll be visited by his late business partner who warns him that he will be visited by three ghosts who will compel him to take a brighter look on life.

The musical has music and lyrics by country music legend Dolly Parton and a book by David H. Bell.

Dolly said: “Bringing our reimagined Charles Dickens classic to London feels like a homecoming. My songs weave the music of my beautiful Smoky Mountains into this timeless Christmas story, and I can’t wait for London audiences to hear them as we tell that story, set in a place that is truly special to me.”

Tickets for Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol go on sale on 4th July 2022 and will be available from the musical's official website.
