Everyone has a mate who is obsessed with festivals and that person at Absolute Radio Country is Jennie Longdon. Jennie is with you Friday nights from 7pm and Saturdays 4pm-7pm, just before DJ Hish – who will also be at The Long Road 2022 mixing all your favourite country tunes.

Whether you’re a regular festival-goer or thinking about going to The Long Road for the first time, our very own Jennie Longdon has chosen her top 5 things about the festival.

1. The Authenticity

“Although you’re in a beautiful part of the UK, you feel like you’re in a little pocket of Southern America. From the jumping Honky Tonk to the delicious food, you really get a taste of the US.”

2. The People

“Country fans unite for an amazing weekend sharing moments you’ll always remember. I’ve never been to a festival with such an awesome crowd. Everyone is there for an incredible time with a shared love of country music. And you know country folk party better than any other music fans.”

3. Country-oke

“You can’t like country music without loving a bit of a singalong. Country-oke is karaoke with an amazing live band. Last time I was there I attempted ‘Sweet Home Alabama’. I’m no Carrie Underwood but the entire Honky Tonk was singing along with me.

4. The Food

“There is so much choice! Real US inspired street food from really amazing vendors with American classics alongside all your traditional festival favourites. And they stay open late for that walk back to your tent after partying all night!”

5. The Outfits

“Dust off your cowboy hats and boots, this is an opportunity to show off your best country attire. Whether you want to play it cool in a t-shirt and jeans, or really channel your inner country star. I loved seeing all the bell bottoms, Stetsons, fringing and band T-shirts!”

We’ll see you at the Honky Tonk for some Country-oke and we’re sorry about Jennie’s singing in advance.
