Yesterday was a special day for many in the US as it was Thanksgiving, traditionally a time for families to come together. However, for some it's not always possible to get the family together, and when Carly Pearce noticed an elderly man sitting by himself, she decided to invite him over to eat with her and her husband Michael Ray.
The 'I Hope You're Happy Now' singer later shared a series of photos with her fans saying, 'Decided to have Thanksgiving dinner when we got back to Nashville & saw this sweet guy sitting alone.'
She continued, 'We invited him to join us and closed down Cracker Barrel Old Country Store talking all about his 89 years of life. Thank you God for all the blessings and for my sweet husband who loves these moments as much as I do. My heart is so full ♥️ Michael Ray'.
Since posting the photos earlier today (29th November) Carly's post has had more than 1,000 likes on Facebook, with many fans commenting on it being such a sweet gesture. One fan commented, 'You made his Thanksgiving!!❤ What a lovely gesture!! You both are the sweetest!!', with another saying, 'What an awesome memory you made! Love your big heart!❤❤❤'.
A third fan left a longer message saying, 'You & Michael are special kind of people that we need more of in the world today. i can see the joy and smile you put on this man's face. God bless you both and Happy Thanksgiving!!...... ❤'.
Carly started dating her husband Michael in July 2018, when she shared a photo of the couple hugging saying, 'And then one random night at the Nashville Palace changed everything. ❤️'.
Soon after the couple got engaged, sharing the lovely news with their fans. Carly captioned a photo of the proposal saying, 'Earlier this week, the man of my dreams got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.'
Then, just last month, the couple married in front of around 100 friends and family in the Nashville area.
