Manic Street Preachers frontman James Dean Bradfield sat down in his studio to bring us an exclusive live session for Danielle Perry's evening show.

James gave us stunning renditions of two tracks from his new solo album 'Even In Exile'. First up, a guitar and double bass version of the Absolute Radio playlisted 'The Boy From The Plantation'.

Next, the beautiful 'From The Hands Of Violeta' on his acoustic guitar. Finally, he treated us to a stripped-back piano version of 90s Manics classic 'From Despair To Where'.

Back in April 2020, the Manics pledged to play two huge gigs at Cardiff Motorpoint Arena this December as a show of thanks to all the NHS staff who have worked tirelessly throughout the Covid-19 crisis.

As part of Absolute Radio 90s' 10th birthday celebrations in August 2020, Andy Bush chose 'You Love Us' as one of his favourite 90s songs, and the Manics' anthem 'A Design For Life' was voted the 15th best song of the 90s by our listeners.
