As Dave Berry mentioned on his Breakfast Show this morning (24th September), an official Motörhead scented candle is going on sale that apparently smells like late-great frontman Lemmy Kilmister.

Retailing at $38 (around £30) and available to pre-order now, the Ace of Spades candle has been launched to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Motörhead’s seminal album and single of the same name.

The candle smells of smoke, whiskey and oak, which is apparently reminiscent of the aroma of Lemmy.

Aesthetically, the black candle features the iconic Motörhead and Ace of Spades logos and is emblazoned with the words ‘Born To Lose, Live To Win.’

The company behind the candle is Evoke Candle Co., which was founded by Gina Giambalvo-Glockler, who is married to Saxon drummer Nigel Glockler.

Giambalvo-Glockler says: “I remember the first time I laid eyes on the Ace of Spades album- it was 1980 in Dallas, Texas. I went to our local record store and as always straight to the import section because everyone knew that was where the best new music was to be found. I saw the cover and I had to have it.

“As soon as I got back home straight onto the turntable it went and that was it – I was hooked for life! We are proud to partner with Motörhead and Global Merchandising Services on our Ace of Spades candle.”

Alongside the Ace of Spades candle, Evoke Candle Co. are also selling a Saxon Denim and Leather candle, and a charity Nigel Glockler candle that’s donating a portion of proceeds to Emilia Clarke’s Same You charity, which helps people recovering from brain injuries.

Nigel Glockler survived a brain aneurysm in 2014 and underwent several surgeries.

At the start of the summer, it was announced that a movie biopic about Lemmy is in the works.
