Listen: Razorlight release new single and announce ‘best of’ album

Razorlight have released a new single titled ‘You Are Entering The Human Heart’.

The track is one of two brand new songs to be featured on a new compilation album ‘Razorwhat? The Best Of Razorlight’.

The album will feature 11 of the band’s finest moments as well as the new tracks - ‘You Are Entering The Human Heart’ and ‘Violence Forever?’

Razorlight have been through numerous line-up changes and split up for a while between 2014 and 2017.

Now, the band have reunited and released their new single complete with a tongue-in-cheek video which sees a slick record-exec trying to persuade the band to get back together.

Playing on Johnny Borrell's reputation as something of an indie diva, and the notion of major labels having lost some of their clout, the video sees the band eventually meet for a live performance, only for Borrell to ruin everything by running away.

The original line-up of Johnny Borrell (vocals, guitar), Björn Ågren (guitar), Andy Burrows (drums) and Carl Dalemo (bass) revealed in April 2021 that they had been working together again for the first time in more than a decade.

“I had to go and chat with Johnny and make things good,” Burrows recalls.

“If I didn’t, I’d have gone on thinking about it for the rest of my life, that we should’ve met up, we should’ve played together again, it was too special to leave behind.”

Borrell takes up the story adding: “My trust with Andy was at absolute zero so to get that back was really inspiring

“That’s never happened before and it made me think a lot about my life, like if I can get my trust back with Andy, I could do it with anybody.”

Burrows says: “Whilst our relationship hasn’t always been plain sailing, when Johnny and I sit down to write music together, there’s a magic that happens. I’m so grateful to have him and the band back in my life,” agrees Burrows.

The single features both Borrell and Burrows on vocals, which Burrows describes it as “a real collaborative experience”.

Borrell also promises more to come, saying: “Hopefully we’ll do the Best Of and get more music out next year, then tour in the spring. It’s gonna be interesting, that’s all I can say.”
