Teenage Cancer Trust are streaming Unseen footage from their Royal Albert Hall concerts as part of an emergency fundraising appeal.

With no Teenage Cancer Trust shows at the world-famous Royal Albert Hall taking place back in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, the charity lost out on more than £1 million of income. In total, TCT is set to lose out on £6million in funding this year.

Now, the Teenage Cancer Trust needs to raise vital funds to help young people battling cancer across the UK.

The Teenage Cancer Trust Unseen streaming event will take place on the charity’s YouTube channel from Thursday 8th October and will feature 11 unique and ‘Unseen’ performances from big-name acts who have played the event over the years.

Although the performances are completely free to watch, Teenage Cancer Trust is urging viewers who can afford it to donate RIGHT HERE.

Flame-haired acoustic-pop troubadour Ed Sheeran will kick things off on 8th October, and he’ll be followed by Muse, Rudimental, Paul McCartney, Paul Weller, Stereophonics, Pulp, Noel Gallagher, Them Crooked Vultures, The Who and The Cure, who wrap things up on Sunday 18th October.

On Saturday 31st October there will then be a full concert stream from The Cure for those who enter the raffle – see details below.

The Who’s Roger Daltrey, who is behind the legendary fundraising gigs at the Royal Albert Hall and a patron of the Teenage Cancer Trust, has urged people to donate.

“So here we are, six months into one of the strangest times in living memory,” Roger said. “Where everyone has had some sense of what isolation, even for short periods, can do to the state of our mental health.

“Without the environment and services that Teenage Cancer Trust provide within our NHS, specifically for this age group, isolation throughout their lengthy treatments becomes a strong possibility.

“Through Teenage Cancer Trust, the UK has led the world in recognising the specific issues that this age group with cancer suffer, please donate generously to make sure this vital work continues through these difficult times.”

Kate Collins, Chief Executive of Teenage Cancer Trust, says: “The music industry has always been one of Teenage Cancer Trust’s strongest supporters. This year, our toughest yet, is no exception and we’re immensely grateful for this incredible donation from some of the world’s biggest icons. These amazing performances have been truly life changing.

“Without dedicated support, young people with cancer can find that their unique needs are unseen, invisible and unmet. Fears about the future, as treatment takes its toll, are exacerbated by the isolation many face, and these have been heightened by the current pandemic. They need us now more than ever.

“I hope music fans enjoy the Unseen archive and donate to help Teenage Cancer Trust make sure no young person faces cancer alone.”
