Pre-sale: UB40 featuring Ali Campbell & Astro announce April 2021 UK tour
They're playing five headline shows
UB40 featuring Ali Campbell & Astro have announced a five-date headline tour for spring 2021, calling it at huge venues including London’s The O2.
Ali Campbell, Astro and their seven-piece UB40 band had planned on touring in 2020, but they’ve taken the very sensible decision to hit the road in 2021 instead.
The Unprecedented Tour will open at Sheffield City Hall on Friday 9th April before calling in at London The O2, Brighton Centre, Cardiff Motorpoint Arena and Birmingham Utilita Arena.
UB40 featuring Ali Campbell & Astro pre-sale
Absolute Radio has secured a 24-hour pre-sale to the tour that kicks off at Absolute Radio Tickets at 10am on Thursday 30th July. General sale follows on Friday 31st July.
Back in May, UB40 featuring Ali Campbell and Astro released a cover of ‘Lean On Me’ by the late-great Bill Withers, which they recorded during lockdown.
All proceeds from the track went to NHS Charities Together and the socially-distanced music video featured guest appearances from a cast of keyworkers plus Madness frontman Suggs, Shaun Ryder and Bex from The Happy Mondays, Sir Cliff Richard, Jools Holland, Phil Daniels, The Specials’ Lynval Golding and many more.
Since their inception in Birmingham in December 1978, UB40 have sold more than 70million records worldwide and they’ve scored three UK number one single – ‘Red Red Wine’, ‘I Got You Babe’ and ‘(I Can't Help) Falling in Love with You.’
There are currently two acts using the band’s name – UB40 and UB40 featuring Ali Campbell & Astro.
