Crookston Community Group

Crookston Community group support children from all backgrounds in the community by providing a safe and welcoming community space, providing vouchers for essentials, and putting on activities.

CCG is based in one of the most deprived areas of Glasgow, and the demand for food and other essentials is high. CCG was established by a group of multi-cultural local people who wanted to do something about the increase in locan crime, lack of opportunities, inability to access services, extreme poverty, hunger, racial hostility, fear, and isolation.

Crookston Community Group runs clubs throughout school holidays where they provide food and activities for group members, helping to tackle holiday hunger and isolation.

Cash for Kids funding helps CCG to deliver food parcels and vouchers to vulnerable, low-income families. Vouchers might be spent on food, nappies, baby milk, baby food, school uniforms, etc.

Grants also enable CCG to provide hot meals for children during the holiday months, where they are no longer in receipt of free school meals.
