With Britain's Got Talent set to be back on our TV screens within the next couple of months, the auditions are well under way, with Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly fronting the show for the 12th series.

With Ant currently going through a divorce with Lisa Armstrong, who also works on the show, it seems one audition in particular got a little too much for the Geordie boy.

According to new reports, Ant broke down in tears after witnessing an emotional audition in London last week.

According to The Daily Mirror, Ant got teary eyed after hearing a magician's heartbreaking story about his wife and daughter's cancer. A source said, “Ant got very emotional, which was unusual. This story seems to really strike a chord with Ant."

They added, "We wondered if the pressure has finally got to him? Was he letting out lots of tears about more than just this story.”

After months of speculation, Ant confirmed he is filing for divorce from Lisa after 11 years of marriage back in January, claiming he needs to concentrate on his health.

A statement on his behalf read,

"In response to the recent speculation in the media, Ant is very sad to announce that, after 11 years, he is ending his marriage to Lisa McPartlin.

“Ant asks for privacy at this difficult time, for both himself, Lisa and their immediate families.

"No further statement will be made."

Since then, Ant has been very positive and up beat during public appearances, recently thanking his fans for their support.

During his acceptance speech at the National Television Awards for Best TV Presenter, Ant addressed his "tough year".

He told the audience, “It’s been a very emotional night tonight. It’s been quite a year. It’s been quite a tough 12 months so winning this tonight really means a lot, so thank you for all your support, it really means the world to me, it’s helped me get through."

Ant then turned to Dec and said, “And thanks to you little guy, I love you man.

Ant and Dec have returned for the 12th series of Britain's Got Talent, alongside judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.

The new series is set to begin later this year.
