Tennis champion Serena Williams and her fiancé Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian, have welcomed a little girl.
Messages of congratulations have been coming in for the 23-time Grand Slam winner who has had her first child with Alexis. Serena is believed to have gone into labour on 1st of September, right about her due date, and given birth later that day.
News of the birth was tweeted by the official US Open Tennis Twitter account and messages have been coming in from sports personalities, celebrities and the general public.
The news of the couple's new addition came just as Serena's sister Venus was about to go out on court and she was reported to be "super-excited."
Good friend, and pop superstar, Beyoncé was also one of the first to publicly congratulate Serena and Alexis, posting a photo of Serena on Instagram saying 'Congratulations Serena'.
The current men's world number one, Rafa Nadal, also congratulated Serena saying, 'Congrats Serena!!! So much joy for you!!!'.
Serena revealed her pregnancy earlier this year by mistake when she posted a photo on Snapchat with a message saying '20 weeks'. While the photo was quickly deleted it wasn't long before screenshots began to circulate on social media. The news of her pregnancy was later confirmed by one of Serena's representatives.
Serena and Alexis have yet to make a statement about the birth of their baby girl, or announce further details including her name.
