Since they appeared on The X Factor, it's fair to say both Olly Murs and James Arthur's careers have rocketed, both having MASSIVE hits over the last few years. As this year's series of The X Factor is coming to an end next weekend, we asked Hits Live performers Olly Murs and James Arthur what advice they'd both give to this year's finalists.

James, who was crowned the winner of the popular talent show back in 2012, told Sarah-Jane Crawford although they are very cliché, you should 'be yourself' and 'follow your heart'. The singer, who recently released his own version of 'Rewrite The Stars' from The Greatest Showman with Anne-Marie, also revealed his still in contact with his X Factor buddy Jahméne Douglas.

Meanwhile, Olly, who finished runner-up behind Joe McElderry in 2009, told Sarah-Jane you need to have your own luck, as well as having great work-ethic. The singer, who is going on tour in 2019, also revealed if you have the talent and 'tick all of the boxes' you have a chance.

Check out his interview below:

The lovable singer also told Sarah-Jane the most CRAZY thing his fans have done to try and get close to him.

Olly also told us a number of fans went through every red light in Manchester to follow him not long after his stint on The X Factor came to an end. But if you think that is mad, wait until you hear the next one! Olly said, "I walked into my hotel room and there was a fan on my bed.

Now take a look at where The X Factor winners are now:

Steve Brookstein, series one, 2004

Things went downhill super quickly after the high of winning the first ever series of The X Factor, and Steve's still bitter… even now, 12 years later. He's written a book about it called Getting Over The X. Come on now Steve, perhaps you should give it a read.
These days he's more into childish rants on Twitter about, well, pretty much everything except making music. He did release an album in 2014, and just to show he's moved on he called it Forgotten Man. It didn't chart.
