Emmerdale fans will be devastated to hear the news that fan-favourite Ryan Hawley, who plans Robert Sugden, is reportedly quitting the show. The 33-year-old, who has starred as Robert for five years, is rumoured to be leaving the show later this year.

Ryan's character Robert is beloved by fans of the soap as one-half of an epic love story with fellow character Aaron Dingle, played by Danny Miller, and viewers have followed their romance through the years - but it sounds as though RobRon (as fans have dubbed them) will be coming to an end in the coming months.

According to OK! magazine, a TV source has revealed that although fans of the show have "loved" RobRon's romance and how Robert has played him, Ryan has "decided to take a break from the show for the foreseeable future and try other projects."

They added that he would be leaving the soap "later this year", but that fans still have a lot more to see of him and that they can "expect to see him on screen right up until the end of the year. He will be sorely missed."

Still desperate to avenge his sister's honour, Robert and Aaron wake up before dawn to pin flyers around the village of Lee's face, with the word 'rapist' written across it.

But Victoria is furious when she finds the flyers, feeling that the boys have exposed her, and demands they take them all down.

Everyone is surprised when the police call in, saying they've had a complaint about the posters made against Victoria. A fuming Victoria tells Robert she wants nothing to do with him.

With Aaron feeling guilty for his part in the prank, he vows to put things right between Victoria and Robert, and tells Victoria to consider things from Robert's point of view.

The next day they both visit Jack's grave, and when Robert tells Victoria that he'll always be there for her, the siblings embrace.

Another added, 'I am absolutely gutted to read Ryan Hawley is leaving #Emmerdale. Not just for Robron (even though I love them) but because Rob is my favourite character by miles. So versatile, there is no one quite like him and Ryan is brilliant. I’m going to miss him 💔.' sic
