Spring Date Ideas!

Now that the sun has come out to play, how can you shake up your dates?

Published 20th May 2014

Spring has officially sprung! It’s time to get out of those onesies, throw those snow boots to the back of the cupboard and get outside to enjoy the sunshine. So now that the sun has come out to play, how can you shake up your dates?

Visit a Botanical Garden------------------------

If it’s a first date especially, botanical gardens are a lovely date venue. You can wander around the gardens taking in the pretty scenery, and if the conversation ever lulls there will always be an interesting exotic plant or tree nearby to give you something to talk about!

During Spring and Summer, botanical gardens tend to hold open-air theatrical productions and musical performances – so check the website of one nearest you for What’s On. Pack a blanket, a bottle of wine, some nibbles and sit beneath the setting sun!

Hire a Boat-----------

Nothing says ‘we’re on date’ more than a rowing boat for 2! Hiring a boat is a great alternative to the more traditional dinner and drinks date. Do it Hollywood Romance style and stock up on strawberries and Prosecco for the voyage, and if you’re rowing skills aren’t up to much then you can always hire out a pedalo instead…

Most parks with lakes or rivers have them to hire, but if it’s not too far out of your way then we’d highly recommend The Serpentine, Hyde Park, for a truly special date!

Safari Park-----------

Safari Parks are much more date appropriate than zoos. Firstly, because you’re in a car it’s a more private experience. You and your date can chat and admire the animals without being bundled by tourists, and it also gives you loads of conversation topics because you’ll constantly be surrounded by wildlife – guaranteeing no awkward silences!

There are great Safari Parks all over the UK, including Woburn Safari, Longleat in Wiltshire, West Midlands Safari Park, Knowsley and more!

Day Trip to the Beach---------------------

It’s never too early in the year to head to the beach! Great Britain has got some brilliant beaches; whether you want to re-live your teenage years and hit the arcade, walk barefoot in the sand, or have fish ‘n’ chips on the Pier. A trip to the seaside is enough to make anyone smile and tends to bring out people’s romantic side! We’d suggest packing a picnic and heading to the coast for the ultimate Spring Date.
