A recent survey has found that over half of women in Scotland want to change their weight because it is making them unhappy. 68% of women in the region told Simply You magazine that they would like change their weight, with 48% saying they would also like to see a change in their body shape.

Clyde 1's reporter Georgie Prodromou, caught up with Sophie Hearsey from Simply You who said, "We have busy lives, we're raising families, we have husbands, we have really, really busy jobs and sometimes we just lose ourselves and who we are...Every woman deserves to feel happy and confident, just the way she is."

Since 62% of respondents agreed that they would like to lose weight and over half (55%) said they want to change their body shape it’s not surprising that they’ve tried out some extreme diets to achieve their goals.

Almost a tenth admitted to trying out the famous Cabbage Soup diet whilst others said they had tried the Apple Cider Vinegar Diet and the Juice Fast Diet.

Weight worries also seem to be holding us back too, with almost half of 35-54 year olds saying there was something they have always wanted to do, but they have never had the confidence to try.

Speaking about Simply You, Sophie Hearsey from the magazine said, "We hope that by providing women with practical advice about food choices for the family and advice on improving mental and physical health Simply You will offer some affordable and achievable ways to make small changes with big results."

The first issue of Simply You is on sale now.
