£1 million worth of cannabis seized by cops in Kilmarnock

Cannabis with an estimated street value of £1 million has been seized by police in Kilmarnock.

Local officers made the discovery while carrying out an arrest warrant at a farm in the Moscow area of Galston on Friday 13th December.

Approximately 1,500 cannabis plants were found.

Two men, aged 28 and 29, have been arrested and charged in connection with this and are due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday, 16 December, 2019.

Detective Inspector Ross Black, of Kilmarnock CID said: “This was a significant recovery of illegal drugs within the local area and I would like to thank those who provided vital information during our investigation.

“The selling and distribution of drugs will not be tolerated and we will act on all intelligence we receive. I would urge anyone who has information about the sale or production of drugs to get in contact with police."
