14 year old boy charged after Greenock knife attack

A 14-year-old boy has been charged after another teenager was slashed in Greenock.

Police were called to the scene in Cumberland Road in the town at around 1pm on Thursday following a report that a 16-year-old had allegedly been assaulted.

He was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital where he was treated for injuries to his hand.

Police said a 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He has been released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal
