Police are appealing for witnesses to shocking Johnstone incident

There’s a major appeal for witnesses after a hit and run in Renfrewshire that’s left a boy in hospital

It’s after a teenager was knocked over by a biker last Thursday night on Cochranemill Road in Johnstone. The motorcyclist then fled the scene.

Emergency services attended and the 15-year-old was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Sergeant Alasdair Bisset said: “I’m keen to trace members of the public who stopped to help the young male before emergency services attended. They may have information which could assist us tracing the rider of this motorbike.

“I’d also appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened, has dashcam footage or any information which could help with our investigation, to come forward.”
