Four people have been taken to hospital following a serious crash between Largs and Kilbirnie.

Police in North Ayrshire are appealing for information after the collision that happened on Sunday morning on the A760.

The crash involved a blue Renault Twingo and a black Kia Soul and happened around 9:30am on 27 November near the Mills Milk dairy entrance.

The 20-year-old male driver of the Renault and the two woman in the Kia, aged 63 and 71, were taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock for treatment.

However, the 20-year-old female passenger from the Renault had to be taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment to ‘serious’ injuries.

The road was closed until around 2pm to allow for an investigation at the scene, and police are now looking for footage or information that can establish the cause of the collision.

Sergeant Scott Gourlay, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries into the circumstances which led to this collision are ongoing.

“I would urge anyone who may have information which could help to come forward. We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the road around the time of the incident.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 1066 of 27 November.”
