A 42-year-old man has been arrested after police opened a murder investigation relating to the death of local bus driver Gordon Stirling.

On August 14, 2023 at around 5;30pm a stagecoach bus and a white Ford Transit van collided on the A77 near the A719 junction for Galston.

Both drivers were hospitalised and after a few days 23-year-old bus driver from Kilmarnock Gordon Stirling passed away from his injuries.
