22-year-old dies in A82 crash near Balloch

A 22-year-old man driving a Ford Fiesta has died after crashing near the Stoneymallon roundabout on the A82.

The A82 was closed for 8-hours after the crash.

A 22-year-old man has died after a crash on a busy scots road near the banks of Loch Lomond.

Police are appealing for information after the crash on the A82 near the Stoneymollan roundabout located just outside of Balloch.

The crash happened around 6:45pm on Thursday 24 November, and invlced a Ford Fiesta and a Ford Focus with a trailer.

Emergency services attended, but the 22-year-old driver of the Ford Fiesta was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say there were no other injuries, and now pass on their condolences to the 22-year-old’s family.

The road re-opened around 3am on Friday 25 November after being closed fro eight hours to allow investigations to be caried out.

Police are now working to establish the cause of the crash.

Sergeant Archie McGuire said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this difficult time.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage which could assist to contact us.

“I would also appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash or who saw the vehicles prior to the crash to get in touch.”
