Arrest after child led away from parents in Clydebank

A 47 year old man has been arrested after a child was led away from his family at a shopping centre in Clydebank on Saturday.

A 47 year old man has been arrested after a child was led away from his family at a shopping centre in Clydebank on Saturday around 12.40pm.

The 1 year old was returned to his family a short time later and was not injured.

Social media posts about the incident have been shared more than 5,000 times.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Post: "Around 12.40pm on Saturday, September 14, a man was observed walking off with a child in a shopping centre in Clydebank.

"The child was not injured and returned to parents within a very short spcae of time.

"The incident was reported that evening.

"A 47-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is due before Dumbarton Sheriff Court tomorrow."
