Arrest made after major police presence in Lanarkshire following car stop

The 22-year-old man is due in court next week following the March 27 incident

A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged following a major police incident in Lanarkshire.

There was a major police response to an incident t St Andrew’s Court on Church Street, Blantyre, on Wednesday, March 27 when a man was allegedly wielding a knife at officer.

It was after they has been involved in a routines traffic stop around 7.30pm when a 34-year-old woman was arrested.

She is due at Hamilton Sheriff Court today while a 22-year-old man will be in the dock there on Wednesday.

Police responded to the incident around 7.30pm and no injuries were reported.

The man is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court at a later date.

A 34-year-old woman was previously arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court today, Saturday, 30 March, 2024.
